The fable about change and resistance to change
written by Harvard Professor John Kotter
is a about a group of beautiful penguins living as they have lived for many years
on their iceberg. Then, one curious bird, discovers a potentially devastating problem
threatening their habitat.
When he raises the issue, no one is listening to him in the beginning. Finally the
story ends in a heroic commun action to save their living space.
The fable describes the obstacles and tactics to provoke and to succeed in situation
where change is needed.
The characters in the fable are Fred, Alice, Louis, Buddy, the Professor and NoNo;
they are like people we recognize — even ourselves.
